JCC Cambodia strategy development meeting

The final draft of the JCC Cambodia Strategy is planned to be presented to the TWG on Friday and the SC next week for approcal. However, aspects of the strategy still need further development - mainly the objectives and key messages for Phase 2 (starting July 2011). Together with PyD and GAD/C, Clara & I brainstormed with a small group of the JCC team to develop concrete key messages based on previous qualitative research conducted by GAD/C & P4P.

The workplan for the campaign will be the next step, as well as another brainstorming on developing the actual creatives for Phase 2.

Developing Effective Communication Materials - A Training Workshop for GBV Prevention Network Membersby Raising Voices

The objectives of the traning workshop were:
1. To increase participant’s understanding about the various approaches and trends within the field of development communications.
2. To strengthen participant’s capacity to analyze strengths and weaknesses of existing GBV prevention communication materials.
3. To strengthen participant’s practical skills in developing effective, positive communication materials for GBV prevention.
4. To practice how to transform communication materials into program tools that can be used to further the aims of GBV prevention programming.

In addition, I gave a presentation on using social media for social change.
